FAQ

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser and files never leave your device. Closing the tab clears them from memory, so it is fine for confidential documents.

What can be converted to what?

Pictures (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG, AVIF, ICO) to PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, ICO and PDF · PDF to pictures, text, Markdown, HTML and Word · text, Markdown and HTML to PDF, Word, HTML, Markdown and text · CSV, TSV, JSON, Excel, ODS and HTML tables into each other · SRT and VTT subtitles · audio (MP3, M4A, OGG, Opus, FLAC, WAV) and video (MP4, WebM, MKV, MOV, AVI, GIF) into each other, extracting sound from video, trimming and changing speed · ZIP and GZ to unpack or make.

Is video conversion slow here?

It is as fast as your own device, because it runs in the browser on a single CPU core with no server helping. Audio is quick; long or high-resolution video is slow. Lower the picture height or frame rate to speed it up. The first use downloads the converter, about 32 MB.

What about Word to PDF or HEIC?

Not built yet. The list you see always shows only what really works now.

Does PDF to Word look like the original?

You get the text and basic paragraphs, but not the original page layout, pictures or tables, and only for PDFs that contain text rather than scanned pictures.

Thai letters look broken after opening a CSV?

Set the encoding of the file you read to Windows-874 (older Thai Excel files), and keep the BOM option on when you make a CSV for Excel.
