Barcode Types: Make EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128 and Code 39 with Automatic Check Digits
Each barcode type suits a different job, and some have check digit rules that cannot be wrong. Letting the tool calculate them reduces mistakes.
Choosing a type
- EAN-13, EAN-8 and UPC-A for retail products.
- Code 128 carries a wide range of characters, good for internal labels and warehouses.
- Code 39 is used in industry and older paperwork.
Check digits
For EAN and UPC you can leave off the final digit and it is calculated. If you include one, the tool verifies it.
Adjusting and exporting
Set the bar width, height, colours and quiet zone, then download SVG or PNG.
Limits
These barcodes cannot hold Thai text; use a QR code for that. The EAN numbers used to sell products must come from the body that issues them. This tool draws a barcode image; it does not register a number.
