Convert CSV to JSON and JSON to CSV with Excel-Safe Thai Output

Opening a Thai CSV file in Excel and getting unreadable characters is a classic problem. The cause is usually how the file is encoded.

The Excel and Thai problem

Excel often guesses a file is not UTF-8 unless it carries a marker called a BOM. This tool adds the BOM when it produces CSV, so Thai displays correctly.

Delimiters

Excel in some regions uses ; instead of ,. The tool detects the delimiter from the data and supports comma, semicolon, tab and pipe.

What it handles for you

  • Quoted fields with line breaks inside cells.
  • Converting values to numbers and booleans.
  • Nested JSON spread into columns named a.b.c.

CSV injection

A value that begins with = + - or @ can be treated by Excel as a formula. The tool guards against that when it writes CSV.
