Random Password Generator: Strong, Pronounceable and PIN, with a Strength Meter

Passwords are made in your browser with the system's own random generator, and nothing is sent or stored. Strength comes from length and randomness, so longer is better. Use a different password on every site and keep them in a password manager.

FAQ

Are passwords made here safe?

They come from the browser's crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographic random source, and we avoid the bias that would make some characters more likely. They are never sent or stored.

How long should a password be?

At least 14 mixed characters for ordinary accounts and 20 or more for important ones. Length matters more than special symbols.

How far can the "guessing time" be trusted?

It estimates an attacker who stole a database of fast hashes and tries every possibility. Real systems use much slower hashes or limit attempts, so they are safer than this figure, but passwords people choose themselves are usually far easier to guess than the maths suggests.
